An idea was formed to have a
Friendship Cane carved by members of the Missoula Woodcarvers and then
to raffle it off to raise money for classes and education for the group.
Several members took a 2"x2"x4" with a hole in the middle
and created little individual works of art.
When the cane was assembled, it was truly outstanding. Each
individual piece became the part of something that was extraordinary.
When the winning ticket was finally drawn, the winner was one of our
faithful club members, Ernie Dallapiazza.
It seemed fitting that Ernie received the Friendship Cane as he has done
much for our club including building us a beautiful rolling bookcase
that we store our library and club equipment in.
